Scandinavian Goddess Freya

Freya is the goddess of fertility, love and beauty in Scandinavian mythology. Lovers prayed to Freya, love songs and poems were composed in honor of her. The beauty of the blue-eyed goddess captivated many fans. Freya rides in a chariot drawn by two cats given to her by Thor. As a pet, she has the Hildisvini boar. All cats were considered messengers of the goddess Freya, so the farmers left them precious milk so that the goddess would bless their harvest. If the weather was good on the day of the wedding, they said about the bride: “She fed the cats well.” This meant that the goddess of love herself supported the bride. And if a cat appeared at the wedding, it was considered a sure sign of a successful marriage.
