As is known from the ancient manuscripts of Greek mythology, Charon is a boatman who transported the souls of the dead across the river Styx (Acheron) to the underworld of the dead. To enter the boat, the soul had to pay the carrier a coin - an obol. It was a one way trip. Arriving souls were met by Hades - the lord of the underworld of the dead. At the foot of his throne sat the judges: Minos, Rhadamanthus and Aeacus - the sons of Zeus. The chosen ones fell into Elysium, the criminals were punished depending on their guilt. The one who was neither good nor evil (or both) fell into the Asphodel Meadows and was doomed to wander through it like a shadow, knowing neither joy nor sadness, not experiencing any desires.

It would seem that what can connect that ancient ignorant world filled with myths with its colorful characters and our enlightened days?

In today′s advanced and technologically advanced world, many aspects and secrets of life are revealed, but the mystery of death and what comes after it remains sealed.

Such a decision is made in cases where: a) the mind has ceased to function physiologically efficiently (in this case, any independent decisions are excluded for natural reasons); b) if one′s own death is the only action that guarantees the survival of offspring (in any format, up to the global one, when one life is compared with the life of an entire nation); c) when the quality of life has crossed the threshold of zero and its termination saves the wearer from suffering, both real, at a given time, and those that may occur in the future under certain force majeure circumstances; d) in the case of a powerful external psychological impact that the individual is not able to overcome.

So is it possible to defy death and win? No. Because immortality is not provided a priori. The Universe itself is organized in such a way that its life is an endless host of births, eventually, one way or another, ending in death.

However, it is possible to negotiate with the Carrier. For a shift in time.
