Slavic goddess Mara

Mara is a Slavic goddess associated with dreams, fate and death. She is one of the most famous and important deities in Slavic mythology. Mara is also called Mora, Morena or Marena in various Slavic cultures. She is usually depicted as a beautiful woman with long hair and pale skin. In mythological and religious representations, it is often associated with night, twilight and magical powers. In some beliefs, Mara is associated with winter holidays and New Year traditions, as she symbolizes the end of the old year and the beginning of a new cycle.
