Egyptian god Thoth

Thoth is one of the most important gods in ancient Egyptian mythology, the god of wisdom, knowledge, writing, magic, and the Moon. His name in ancient Egyptian is pronounced as Djehuty. Thoth is depicted as a man with the head of an ibis or a baboon, both animals being sacred to him. He was the patron of scribes, priests, and all those engaged in the pursuit of knowledge.
Thoth was considered the inventor of hieroglyphic writing and the calendar; he served as a mediator between the gods and humans, as well as a judge in the afterlife. In myths, Thoth often acts as an advisor and wise mediator in conflicts among the gods. His cult was particularly developed in the city of Hermopolis.
He also played an important role in funerary rituals, participating in the judgment of Osiris, where his feather of truth was used to weigh the hearts of the deceased. Thoth symbolized truth, law, and order, as well as harmony in the world.
