Hutsul small cross guard svarga Rysich, 22x22mm
Antique bronze color, weight 4g
Metal bronze with blackening, casting, reconstruction.
Zgards (singular ‘Zgard’, masculine) are amulets in the form of crosses, which, by analogy with Christian ones, were called Maltese or Teutonic crosses. The name Zgarda originated from Sanskrit. ‘Svarga’ is Svarga, the universe.
From ancient times it was believed that this amulet is a symbol of the unity of the four earthly elements: earth and fire, air and water. This symbol also reveals the relationship between time and space, energy and information.
Sometimes the Maltese cross depicts the crucifixion of a man, which symbolizes the purpose of man - to listen and follow God′s will.
Zgard (Maltese Cross) is a sign of human harmony with the whole world.
These ornaments are unique witnesses of the preserved traditions that have survived to our time, and have not lost their caution.
Can be worn as a standalone jewelry, and combined with a coral necklace. Looks great with an embroidered shirt.
Bronze, casting, reconstruction.
